Democracy Audit Mannheim (DAMA)

Project content:

The Democracy Audit Mannheim (DAMA) is part of the project Democracy Monitoring which collects and analyses empirical data in order to assess systematically the functioning of democracy in the city of Mannheim and to identify possibilities for improvements. It is based on a detailed description of democratic attitudes and participatory orientations of the citizens of Mannheim, as well as their assessments of the functioning of democracy in their city.

The ‘Democracy Audit Mannheim’ (DAMA) was financed by Baden-Württemberg Stiftung and the City of Mannheim. Field work ended in January 2013. In April 2013, a descriptive overview has been delivered to the city. The final report on the quality of democracy in Mannheim was publicly presented to the Mannheim City Council and made accessible in June 2013. The work will be continued in the project Citizens and Democracy in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The final report is only available in German.
